San Antonio winters are mild and pleasant, offering a welcome escape from northern winter weather.

Average winter temperatures: highs 60-65F, lows 40-45F. Very few days below freezing. Minimal snow.

Activities: River Walk Holiday Lights, mild hiking, Hill Country scenic drives, museum visits, and indoor entertainment.

Outdoor Activities

Hiking and nature walks: perfect conditions (40-60F). Golf: year-round courses. Biking: comfortable temperatures. Bird watching: winter brings migratory species.

Holiday Events

River Walk Holiday Lights (Nov-Jan). Zoo Lights. Ford Holiday Parade. Pearl Holiday Market. Neighborhood luminaria displays.

Hill Country Winter

Winter is an excellent time to explore the Hill Country. Fall colors (October-November) and mild hiking conditions. Winery visits without summer crowds.

Light jacket or sweater is sufficient for most winter days. Occasional cold snaps (below 35F) require a heavy coat. No snow boots or heavy winter gear needed.
