The Texas Hill Country, just outside San Antonio, is one of the fastest-growing wine regions in the United States.

Within 1-1.5 hours: 50+ wineries in the Fredericksburg area, 30+ in the Driftwood/Dripping Springs area, and 20+ in the New Braunfels area.

Top wineries: Becker Vineyards (beautiful grounds), Hilmy Cellars (tasting room), Grape Creek (production tour), William Chris (highly rated).
