What Summer Maintenance Should I Do?

Patrick Kevin FaganPatrick Kevin FaganUpdated August 18, 2026

Summer maintenance: monitor AC performance, check weatherstripping, inspect attic ventilation, maintain landscaping with proper watering schedule, check for termites, clean dryer vent, inspect pool equipment if applicable, and check foundation for new cracks.

AC Monitoring

Check air filter monthly. Monitor temperature drops. Schedule repair if AC struggles on hot days.

Attic Ventilation

Ensure attic stays cool. Poor ventilation forces AC to work harder and shortens roof life.

Landscaping

Water deeply but less frequently. Early morning watering is most efficient.

Pest Inspection

Summer is peak termite season. Schedule annual termite inspection if not done in spring.
