Should I Renovate Before Selling?
Which renovations add value and which ones aren't worth the investment before selling.
Texas Real Estate Sales Agent #454749, AXEN Realty LLC · Senior Loan Officer, NMLS ID #877741, NEXA Mortgage, LLC
Patrick's Quick Answer
Only renovate before selling when the work will return more than it costs. Focus on kitchens, baths, fresh paint, and curb appeal, and skip pools and highly personalized upgrades. The deciding factors are your budget, your timeline, and what buyers in your market value. When in doubt, a clean, neutral home sells better than an unfinished remodel.
