Homes built before 1980 may contain asbestos in insulation, floor tiles, ceiling textures, pipe wrap, and siding. Asbestos is dangerous only when disturbed and fibers become airborne. If you suspect asbestos, do not disturb the material. Have a sample tested by a certified asbestos inspector before any renovation or demolition work.
